History and Origins

Sleepersound was founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2016 as an experimental collaboration of music and art. Combining influences from modern, world, and classical music gives Sleepersound a texture and depth unlike any other. The first EP, ‘Pilots, Passengers, Portals’ was self-released in 2017.
The First LP, ‘In Medias Res’, was released in 2018 to critical acclaim and went on to produce some favorite tracks like Passengers, which is still in heavy rotation.
From 2019-2021 Stephen Vincent Anderson toured with Sleepersound to provide live mixed visuals, featuring original and found footage, complimenting the musical exploration on stage.
The Second LP, “Idle Voices’ was self-released in late 2021. A product of the pandemic, the album was introspective and meandering, with special tracks like ‘Blossom’, which sparked the cinematic music video, directed and edited by Anderson.
In 2024, Kenny Buesing, a founding member departed Sleepersound to pursue other musical projects and enjoy life in general, but not before gifting us with his vision and talents for the 3rd LP, ‘My Own Dead Love’, released in 2025.
